Chennai Super Kings set to face Kolkata Knight Riders in their first home game after pulling off a win in the season opener with help of Dwayne Bravo’s sensational knock. KKR also began their campaign with a win and will be looking forward to making it two in two. The game could well be a tussle for the batsmen if the Chepauk track provides a traditional turner as both the sides are filled up with some quality spinners.

Key stats and numbers to be looked out ahead of CSK’s first home game of the season:

1 – Chennai Super Kings lost only once in their last 12 IPL games at their home ground Chepauk. Their only defeat in the last 12 games at this venue was against Mumbai Indians during the last over thriller in 2015.


5-2 – CSK’s win-loss record against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. KKR defeated the home team twice in the 2012 season but failed to register a win the remaining five meetings at the Chepauk.


48 – Number of wickets for Imran Tahir in the 33 games he played in the IPL so far. He needs to bag two more wickets for completing 50 IPL wickets.


120 – Dinesh Karthik scored 120 runs in six Twenty20 innings without getting dismissed even once since the start of Nidahas Trophy. He scored his runs at an S/R of 166.67 in these six T20 innings.

CSK’s new opener Ambati Rayudu managed only 110 runs in the nine games he played at this venue with the best score of 34*.


2938Dinesh Karthik needs 62 more runs for completing 3000 runs in the IPL. Only 11 players including eight Indians have completed 3000 IPL runs so far.
