IPL 2020: 5 players whose base price shocked the cricketing universe
Some of these big names are beyond their best days to fetch a bid at their base price.
5. David Miller (75 Lakh)
One of Kings XI Punjab‘s main feature for a long period of time, David Miller was finally released by the franchise after years of persistence. The South African was showing no great signs of improvement and with the likes of Nicholas Pooran in the squad, they definitely were going to ignore him and move forward.
Miller is back in the auction after a fairly long period of time. There are some teams like the Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders who need middle-order batsmen who can bring in experience and fire-power to mix caution and aggression, depending on whatever is needed at that point in time.
Miller, quite surprisingly, went with a base price of just INR 75 Lakh. The Proteas middle-order batsman is almost certain to get a contract even if he had gone for a base price twice as high as what he chose. It did come in as a surprise to see him keep his base price so low.
