Indian Premier League (IPL) has a great significance for every cricketer. Most Indian rookie cricketers look up to IPL for a golden chance to fast track their way into the Indian side. Apart from getting a better chance to play for your country, it provides a great platform to earn money for the budding players as well.

The difference between the pay scale of Indian domestic cricket and IPL is exactly equal to the distinction between the level of competition. An IPL playing eleven hardly has a place for an uncapped player, if it has, it will be for a solitary player or a maximum two in unusual cases. With several cricketers waiting to grab that opportunity, the chance of getting a game becomes very tough. It leads to a lot of players sitting in the dugout for the entire tournament.

As per the rules in IPL, only four overseas players can play in a playing eleven. Those four players are chosen on the basis of the balance of the squad. Due to this condition, a lot of players remain on the sidelines and spend the entire exhibition in the dressing room itself.

Let’s look at team-wise one player who might not get a single game:

Sunrisers Hyderabad has done exceptionally well in the last few seasons, they won the title in 2016 and finished as runner-up in 2018. The core of the team highly relies on overseas players. David Warner, Rashid Khan, Johnny Bairstow, and Kane Williamson are few of the most important faces of the squad. With Mohammad Nabi in the squad as well, it looks quite difficult for them to fit in Fabian Allen.

Allen is a Caribbean allrounder with the potential to hit big shots. However, with solid middle-order options in terms of Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar, Allen’s chances of making the eleven appear difficult. Allen featured for the Windies side in the 2014 Under 19 World Cup.

The Hyderabad franchise has gone back to their title-winning captain, David Warner this time. The Jamaican cricketer only has a chance in case of an injury or if the team looks to experiment with their line-up. With the level of excitement and panic, the extravaganza creates, it could be said that Fabian Allen might not get a single game this season.
