IPL 2021: Aakash Chopra picks his ideal playing XIs for DC vs RR match

Delhi Capitals (DC) will lock horns with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 36th Match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on 25th September 2021. This encounter will be held in Abu Dhabi. And, ahead of this contest between the two sides, cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra has picked his ideal playing XIs for both sides for this contest.

Chopra feels that the No.6 slot is one where there needs to be some thought put in by the Delhi Capitals side. Aussie all-rounder Marcus Stoinis was injured in Delhi’s previous match, and there is a cloud of uncertainty surrounding his availability. And, Chopra feels that Delhi has a number of options at their disposal for the No.6 slot if Stoinis is unable to take the field.

The 44-year-old added that Delhi can have the likes of Chris Woakes or Steve Smith for the spot. Chopra also opined that Ajinkya Rahane is an option, but it would not be wise for the Delhi side to have Rahane batting so low at No.6.

Aakash Chopra is happy with the way the Rajasthan Royals fared in their previous match against Punjab Kings and stated that both the batting and bowling departments are in good shape for the Sanju Samson-led side. Chopra also added that the Rajasthan Royals should stick with the same XI and need not make any changes to their side.

Chopra further stated that the match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals will be a humdinger of a contest. The Delhi Capitals have had an excellent run in the 2021 edition of the IPL, and are sitting at 2nd place in the points table, having won 7 out of their 9 matches. The Rajasthan Royals are occupying the 5th spot in the table, and have won 4 out of their 8 rubbers.
