Obed McCoy, a tall left-arm fast bowler from the West Indies, will be an unknown commodity when he enters the auctions. He is a tailor-made bowler for the shortest format in the game. In 13 T20Is, he has picked up 19 wickets at an outstanding average of 16.84. Given that he bowls at the death, his economy rate of 7.62 is also commendable.

McCoy, blessed with pace, control and one of the best slower balls in the business, has long been seen as one of the most exciting bowling prospects in the Caribbean. The 24-year old has raw energy and lots of ability in his bowling. 2021 has seen McCoy take four-wicket hauls in T20I matches against South Africa and Australia.

He impressed with his performances for St. Lucia Zouks in the CPL 2020. In the IPL mega auction, he will be one of the most interesting bowling prospects. Because of his performance at the death, he was named in the West Indies’ ICC T20 World Cup team. It will be intriguing to see if he can spark the franchises’ attention in the next auction.
