Earlier the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the inclusion of two new teams for the 15th Indian Premier League (IPL). Most likely, these two new teams will be from the Northern part of India. Over the past 14 years, the IPL has seen it all inclusion of the Decision Review System (DRS), strategic timeouts, foreign players as captains, and plenty of new talents emerging. With the addition of two new teams, the IPL is set to get even bigger and better.

Two new teams means more talent, an added dose of entertainment and plenty of cricketing action. The IPL has already given many gems to the cricketing world. It has also provided overseas stars to re-discover themselves the likes of David Warner, Shane Watson, and Imran Tahir.

Also, it provides the youngsters to rub shoulders with the best and allows them to learn a thing or two.
But one thing has changed a bit in the IPL so far and that is the reduction in foreign players leading the franchises. Currently, there are only two captains Kane Williamson and Eoin Morgan leading the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) respectively. But with the inclusion of two new teams, there might be a change in the fortunes as the foreign captains might as well lead the two new teams in the IPL.

Here are a few candidates that might be a good fit to lead the two new IPL teams

While David Miller has been a consistent performer for South Africa in the shortest format, the same cannot be said about his numbers in the various franchise cricket across the globe. The southpaw has blown hot and cold in the IPL and has not been able to set the stage on fire in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Currently, Miller plays for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL but, the opportunities have arrived at snail’s pace for the Proteas star batter.

But things might change for Miller with the addition of new teams. The franchises will be looking to add experienced foreign players with some local players as well. Miller has the experience as well playing the IPL for more than 10 years now. So far, the southpaw has played 86 IPL games and has scored 1952 runs at an impressive average of 33.66.

The franchise will not just get a complete player in Miller, but also a potential leader. Previously, he has led Punjab Kings in the IPL for a brief while and knows a thing or two about captaincy.
