IPL 2022: Best overseas XI from the league stage
Some of the overseas players proved themselves by making a strong comeback in this season.
4. Faf du Plessis
The second-highest run-scorer of the last edition with 633 runs, Faf du Plessis was not retained by his franchise, CSK for the 2022 edition. Instead, he was chosen as the leader of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise. In his first knock, Faf delivered a terrific knock of 88 off 57 balls, with seven sixes.
However, he was inconsistent with his starts in the next few games. His knock of 96 off 64 against LSG helped the team to win the game by 18 runs. In the next notable knock of 73* against Sunrisers, he was at the crease for the entire duration of 20 overs.
In the last three games, Faf scored 127 runs and was one of the key contributors to taking the team to the playoffs. After the league stage, he has 443 runs at an average of 34.08 and will be vital for RCB’s maiden victory.
