IPL 2022: Flop XI from second week
Several players couldn't live up to the expectations in the second week of IPL 2022
Australia’s T20 World Cup-winning wicketkeeper-batsman was bought by Gujarat Titans, in the 2022 mega auction for INR 2.4 crore. For the first time in 11 years, Mathew Wade found an IPL contract on the back of his superlative form in the 2021 T20 World Cup. However, the southpaw has failed to replicate the same for Gujarat.
The veteran cricketer has only managed 37 runs in three outings for his new team. He got a start in Gujarat’s first game against Lucknow Super Giants but failed to convert it. Against Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, Wade managed only one and six runs respectively. With young Rahmanullah Gurbaz waiting in the wings, Wade will have to tighten his shoes to retain his berth in the playing XI.
