Jacob Oram was one of the premier all-rounders in the New Zealand team in the first decade of this 21st century. The tall lanky pace-bowling all-rounder played about 160 ODIs, 33 Test matches and 36 T20Is for the Black Caps. He had a pretty good impact as well, with both bat and ball.

Hence, his all-round ability earned him a place in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ranks in the first couple of seasons. Oram played 15 matches across two seasons (four in the first and 11 in the second) for the MS Dhoni-led franchise. In 2011, he was bought by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) but played just two games.

After missing the 2012 season, Oram was back in the auctions only to be picked by Mumbai Indians (MI). However, the all-rounder played just one game in the entire season. He played the first game where he conceded just 22 runs from his four overs and didn’t get to bat. Oram has never featured in the IPL ever again and many didn’t know that he even played for MI.
