Sunrisers Hyderabad team made their IPL debut in 2013 after the erstwhile Hyderabad based Deccan Chargers were terminated from the IPL. Since then they have been one of the most consistent teams in IPL as they have reached the playoffs four times in six seasons so far. They also lifted the IPL trophy in 2016 and were the runners-up last year.

There are a lot of similarities between the Hyderabad based franchise and the current Indian side in terms of their playing style. The playing combination of both the Indian team and the SRH team looks quite similar and both teams like to choke the opposition with good quality spinners in their ranks. Here is the list of 5 reasons why SRH is an equivalent to Team India.

1) Heavily dependent on top order

In the past, the Indian team has been heavily dependent on their top-3 in limited overs cricket. The trio of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli have done bulk of the scoring in the last few years and the Indian team has struggled in instances when the top-3 batsman have failed collectively.

The same can be held true for the Sunrisers Hyderabad team. They were previously over-dependent on the opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner or Kane Williamson and this season the opening pair of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow have done bulk of the scoring. In fact in the last game when both the openers got out early they failed to chase a score of 136 and eventually got bowled out at 96 runs.
