Society – It impacts you deeply. The happenings of it are discussed, watched, followed as well as debated among everyone. And, when something- as nerve-wracking and disturbing- as the rape and eventual murder of a doctor Disha happens, it tends to shake the society to the core.

And, then post all of this, debates are held, people outrage against the fallacies of the laws and the ignorance of their politicians, candle marches are staged, the name of the victim starts trending on platforms like Twitter, Facebook and celebrities from all walks of life, sometimes hold placards while sometimes post a tweet of compassion and sympathy towards the victim and her family.

Indian captain Virat Kohli took to Twitter on Saturday where he expressed his condolences for the incident that took place in Hyderabad on Thursday night. Kohli tweeted, “What happened in Hyderabad is absolutely shameful. It’s high time we as a society  take charge and put an end to these inhumane tragedies.”

Talking of Virat Kohli, the Indian captain is back at the helm for the upcoming three-match Twenty20 International series against the West Indies, after having taken a rest from last month’s rubber against Bangladesh.

India to take on West Indies  from December 6

In the absence of Kohli, Rohit Sharma led the Men in Blue to a 2-1 series win despite the fact that Bangladesh won the first match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Post that, the Men in Blue came back valiantly to register back-to-back victories in the second and third game respectively.

This will be the third T20I series between the 2007 World Champions, India and two-time (2012 and 2016) WT20 holders, West Indies in the past 11-12 months. And, the results in both the series were the same. India breezed past the defending world champions- firstly by 3-0 at home in 2018 before doing an encore of it earlier this year when Kohli’s men were on a full tour of the Caribbean.

The Windies will hope to wreck their horrendous run in T20Is while Team India will be looking to iron out whatever chunks (there are many) that exist in their armour and zero in on a settled line-up.
