The Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy continues to be elusive for Royal Challengers Bangalore as Kolkata Knight Riders defeated them by four wickets in the Eliminator clash. The game went right down to the last over. However, the two-time champions held their nerves and crossed the line with a couple of deliveries. It was indeed a heartbreaking defeat for RCB players and fans as the side did exceptionally well during the league stage.

Having won 9 of their 14 league-stage games, Virat Kohli’s men finished the group stage at third place. Many even backed them to end the drought this time around. However, that didn’t happen as Eoin Morgan’s team got the better of them in the knock-out encounter. After the disappointing loss, AB de Villiers’ son sent out a positive message he learned from his father.

The little boy asserted the fact that enjoying the process and giving your best is more significant than the result. De Villiers’ wife Danielle shared her son’s message through an Instagram post, mentioning that the little boy learnt this lesson from his father.

AB de Villiers overwhelmed with his son’s message

“Our little AB, told me tonight to remember that it’s not about winning, it’s about enjoying the game and giving your best. Words he learnt from his father. I guess I couldn’t say it better. I’m a proud wife and a proud mama. What a privilege it’s been to have been with the team for the whole of the 2021 IPL. Memories we will cherish forever,” she wrote while sharing a picture of her both sons John Richard and Abraham.

The comment section got flooded in no time as RCB fans were delighted with the thoughts of the child. De Villiers also got overwhelmed after seeing the post and he expressed the same in the comment section. “I’ll rephrase.. it’s not JUST about winning, but ALSO enjoying it and ALWAYS giving your best,” he commented.

Meanwhile, the former South African captain, who retired from international cricket in 2018, wasn’t really at his best in IPL 2021. While he played several magnificent knocks in the first half, the 37-year-old doesn’t have much to show in the UAE leg. Nevertheless, the dasher would be determined to comeback stronger next season.
