Bumrah couldn’t hold on to his emotions after coming across the news.
India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who is currently rehabbing a finger injury has vented out his frustration over a horrific incident of molestation and murder that took place in the early hours of Saturday in Uttar Pradesh. In a crime that sends shivers down the spine, a 35-year-old woman was allegedly brutalized by five men and later burnt alive in a temple near her house. According to reports, the victim was in her sleep when the attackers barged into her house. The woman has two children and her husband works as a labourer.
Bumrah along with almost all the Indians was very upset at this incident. Disheartened and sickened by such a heinous act, Bumrah couldn’t hold on to his emotions as he took to his Twitter handle and posted, “We’ve come so far but in the end, it doesn’t even matter. Is there any humanity left in the world? It is absolutely shameful to see something like this. DISGUSTING!”

Bumrah in a fight against time to be fit for the Test series
After being ruled out of the ODI series in England with a thumb injury, Bumrah is in a fight against time to be fit for the second Test against England starting on August 1 at Edgbaston. The right-arm pacer suffered the finger injury against Ireland during the first T20 international in Dublin while attempting to stop a ball in the final over of the Ireland innings off his own bowling.
The 24-year-old, who earned his Test debut against South Africa this January, enjoyed a spectacular 2017 in the limited-overs format. With 39 scalps in 23 ODIs last year, Bumrah also got named in the ICC’s ODI Team of The Year.
A limited-overs specialist with a rich repertoire of tricks up his sleeve, the numero uno ranked ODI bowler will be hoping that can play a part in his team’s quest soon as they aim to overturn history against the English team.
