In the meantime, KXIP was set to take part in the 13th edition of Indian Premier League 2020. However, BCCI postponed the tournament to mid-April. After Indian Prime Minister announced a lockdown in the country till April 14, the league was dealt with a major blow.

The BCCI is yet to make the official decision over the commencement of the cash-rich league. As far as the current conditions are concerned the chances are quite slim that the board will take a risk of organizing tournament risking the lives of the players and spectators.
