Sanju Samson | Captain:

It feels great, honestly. We did consider setting a total by batting first, but I felt there’s no room for playing it safe in a match like this. So, we chose to chase and take it head-on. Our bowling attack is quite young — we’re missing experienced names like Jofra and Sandeep — but the composure and strategy these youngsters showed was really impressive. They’ve got a bright future ahead. A lot of behind-the-scenes work has been happening. For instance, he's only played the last four matches, but Shane Bond has worked closely with him, and Rahul sir and others have witnessed his dedication. We’re all really proud of him.

These days, powerplay performances are being looked at more closely, and the overall team quality is very evenly matched — the difference between winning and losing is razor-thin. We’ll need to reflect properly, analyze where we fell short. It’s not about luck — we made a few mistakes, and we need to return with a stronger mindset next season.

As for Vaibhav — I’m at a loss for words. That hundred was special. His ability to loft a slower one over cover shows the kind of range he has. During the middle overs, he kept things moving smartly. His game awareness at such a young age is remarkable.

MS Dhoni | CSK Captain:

The total we posted was solid, but you have to factor in the number of wickets lost — it creates added pressure on the lower-middle order because there's always that concern about not lasting 20 overs.

I thought Brevis played a really good innings — he took calculated risks, and the run rate was quite healthy. That’s actually the phase where we need to tighten things a bit. The issue wasn’t the scoring rate — it was those extra 1-2 wickets we lost unnecessarily.

As for Kamboj, he’s not a swing bowler, but he gets a bit of seam movement and hits the deck harder than his speed suggests. He’s stepped up with responsibility and is capable of delivering solid yorkers.

Powerplay is still an area where we’re conceding more than we’d like. He bowled three overs in that phase today — not an easy task, especially when there’s little movement and the batters are settled.

We’re looking for consistency — not easy when you’re pushing for a 200+ strike rate. Young batters need to back their abilities and aim to replicate the mindset they had in their debut season. Becoming more consistent will be the key to their evolution.
