Batting first the Indian team had given the West Indies of 184 to chase. It was expected to be an easy win for the West Indians looking at the batting they had, all the Indian bowlers were too spirited to give it away and kept picking wickets at regular intervals and threw out the then world champs out of the game to be win their first ever World Cup title. 7. Sourav Ganguly the Indian captain won the toss and elected to bat first; but to the shock of their fans the team was all out for 204 and could not even play full 50 over’s. In the second innings they were much more professional and quickly wrapped up the Netherlands innings for 136. Javagal Srinath and Anil Kumble took 4 wickets each. 6. Zimbabwe 135 Kapil Dev. The visitors won the toss and chose to bat first. They either misread the conditions or underestimated the Indian bowling attack; the move instantly backfired as they lost the first wicket with only 3 runs on the board. East Africa 120 On the 11th June, 1975 India played East Africa at Headingley in Leeds, it was the first edition of the world cup hosted by the creators of the game of cricket England. In the 6th match of the tournament India were playing East Africa who won the toss and elected to bat first. Their batting innings was concluded in 55.3 over’s from the allotted 60 with just 120 runs on board. India chased it down with ease and had all the 10 wickets intact. 2. The Islanders won the toss and put India in to bat first, a strong batting performance by almost all the batsmen propelled India to a solid score of 292. Sri Lanka were dealt early blow in their innings and as the wickets started to fell with just 2 runs on the board, it stopped only when they were all out for 109 runs. India registered one of their biggest wins in world cup cricket winning the match by 183 runs. 1. And the streak continued as they ruffled the UAE to secure a 9 wickets win over the associate team. The UAE skipper won the toss and chose to bat first, a thoroughly professional performance by the bowlers ensured their opponents were bundled on with just 102 runs on the board.
