Kedar Jadhav has found new life as a potential bowler who is currently bowling more than his share as a part-timer for the Virat Kohli led Indian team, in the ongoing five-match one-day international series against the visiting Australians. Indian team management has been brilliantly using the duo of Jadhav and Hardik Pandya, before his injury, as their fifth bowler, with both bowling a share of ten overs, with four genuine bowlers doing the job in front. Jadhav has been phenomenal in keeping runs down and even picking some handy wickets at crucial junctures.

Below sea-level deliveries

Kedar Jadhav has been very good at picking wickets whenever the team requires one, something he did in the ODI series against England and against the Windies. He then turned into the golden arm in the Asia Cup 2018. Kedar Jadhav has been a multi-utility player for the Indian team and in IPL as well, where he has also kept wickets for RCB.

One thing that has been on notice about Kedar Jadhav is his point of release of the ball during his delivery slide. Against Australia, the commentators and the viewers have noticed that Jadhav sometimes releases the ball almost with a side-arm action, thanks to which the balls come out with an extremely low trajectory. In short, his performances with the ball and has caught the attention of everyone with his ‘below the sea level,’ action.

Batsmen attention! Matthew Hayden has a way to counter Jadhav

Yes, you read it correctly. Australian opener Matthew Hayden has come up with a noble way of tackling this menace of Kedar Jadhav’s ‘below the sea level’ deliveries. Jadhav has been amongst the wickets with four wickets in five games and has picked up two wickets in two games against Australia. He has dismissed the likes of set batsmen against Australia with Stoinis on 37 in the first ODI in Hyderabad and Usman Khawaja on 38 in the second ODI in Nagpur.

He has already won a Player of the Match award for his 81* and one wicket in Hyderabad win and has become a vital part of India’s plans for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019. However, in a video shared by Indian commentator Sanjay Manjrekar, Matthew Hayden suggests the batsmen play Kedar Jadhav’s low arm deliveries straighter inside the ‘V’.

Here is the video of Hayden suggesting on how to counter Kedar Jadhav:
