Pakistan left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir has been blessed with a baby girl Minsa ahead of the much hyped ‘Independence Cup’ between the Men in Green and World XI. The bowler had already announced that he won’t be a part of the historic series in his own country for the same reason. He and his wife Narjis Khatun are in England currently and the chances of Amir playing in any of the games is very slim.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the fans are all set to welcome cricket in the country after a gap of 8 long years. World XI will play a series of 3 T20 Internationals which starts on Tuesday. Second and third match are scheduled to play on 13 and 15 September respectively. The Independence Cup and the jersey of the visiting team unveiled on Monday ahead of the first game.

Amir was gearing up for the series but had to travel to England as the family was about to welcome another member. The bowler himself revealed the news on social media and posted a message for his followers with a picture in which he has his newborn baby in his hand. He thanked god for blessing with such a cute baby. His message read, “Shukar Allhumdulilah blessed with the Rehmat of Allah Mashallah.”

Mohammad Amir’s Tweet:

In-form Amir

The 25-year-old bowler is in great form with the ball in hand and had said that playing an International game in front of the crowd will be his life’s best moment. Though, he has to wait now until Sri Lanka series for that to happen as the third T20I, the final game of Sri Lanka tour, is scheduled to be played in Lahore.

Mohammad Amir has made a resounding comeback in international cricket after serving a ban for almost 5 years. He was instrumental in Pakistan’s triumph in Champions Trophy in June this year. Also, his county stint with Essex was extremely successful as he troubled the batsmen with his swing bowling.
