Ever since the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the schedule for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the fans have been eagerly waiting to see the former Indian captain MS Dhoni grace the cricket field again. Both, the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Dhoni will be looking forward to scripting a memorable comeback in IPL 2021 after a torrid run in the 13th edition hosted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Dhoni succumbed to a forgettable run in IPL 2020 as the legend was seen struggling to run between the wickets and score runs. In 14 games, Dhoni could score only 200 runs at an average of 25 and a poor strike rate of 116.27. The skipper’s performance affected the team too as it was the first time in the history of the T20 Extravaganza that the Super Kings failed to qualify for the playoffs.

The Yellow Army finished at the seventh spot after winning just six games out of 14 played. However, the team will like to move forward, forgetting the demons from the past. This time, they have Suresh Raina back in the squad while there are new inclusions too in the form of Moeen Ali, Robin Uthappa, and many more.

CSK uploads a video featuring MS Dhoni

Ahead of the CSK’s first game in IPL 2021 against Delhi Capitals (DC), the fans were greeted with another piece of good news as it was learned that the skipper Dhoni has regained his form and is hungry to perform in the tournament. In a video uploaded on Chennai Super Kings’ Twitter handle, the 39-year-old can be seen hammering the ball like anything all over the park during the training session. The sound of the bat hitting the ball from the middle could be heard multiple times as the Super Kings fans cherished seeing their skipper looking in fine touch.

Dhoni’s form can also be a cause of worry for the Delhi Capitals supporters as the veteran can do a lot of damage to the opposition team when on a song.
