MS Dhoni hasn’t been around for quite some time when it comes to action on the cricket field. The veteran was last seen on the pitch in the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup versus New Zealand at the Old Trafford in Manchester. There he scored a half-century, but couldn’t take his team over the finishing line. Ever since, he has been on a sabbatical and has missed quite a few series for India.

Dhoni wasn’t a part of the series versus the West Indies back in August as he was busy serving the Indian Army in the Kashmir Valley. Thereafter, he missed out on the three-game series versus South Africa and won’t be a part of the three-match series against Bangladesh as well. Earlier, it was learned that Dhoni will end his sabbatical next year and will come back to playing the sport.

In the meantime, speculations of him hanging his boots keep doing the rounds. Most of the experts and pundits, including his childhood coach Keshav Banerjee, have had an opinion over when Dhoni should call it quits. It’s also not known whether the Jharkhand-born will take part in the 2020 T20 World Cup in Australia or not. In Dhoni’s absence, Rishabh Pant continue to don the keeping gloves.

The selectors have iterated that Pant would be backed despite his repeated failures at the highest level. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), as per reports, said that Dhoni will only be picked for his farewell series, something which hasn’t gone down well with MSD’s fans by any stretch of the imagination. It remains to be seen when he next dons the prestigious India jersey.

Away from cricket, Dhoni is currently having a great time with his family. He is spending some quality time with wife Sakshi and daughter Ziva. Lately, he shared a video on Instagram where he was seen washing his vehicle along with his daughter. Rishabh Pant also went to his residence in Ranchi.

Dhoni is currently in his farmhouse, celebrating the festival of Diwali. Sakshi, Dhoni’s better-half, posted a video on her Instagram story, showing the lighting of the entire area. Ziva also jumped in the end of the video.
