Nathan Coulter-Nile takes a blinder to dismiss George Bailey

He also impressed the selectors by picking 4 wickets in the match.

The Sheffield Shield season of Australia has got underway as the players are trying their level best to impress the selectors ahead of the Ashes series. All the matches are being played competitively and the fans are enjoying every bit of it. Nathan Coulter-Nile, in the midst of all this, has pulled off a blinder off his own bowling to dismiss George Bailey which left everyone including the batsman stunned. The incident took place during the match between Western Australia and Tasmania in Perth.

Coulter-Nile plays the first-class cricket for his state side Western Australia and has performed exceptionally well. The last ball of the seventh over was pitched up by Coulter Nile which was defended back to him by Bailey. But the ball was in the air for some time which was picked up by the bowler and dived forward and snaffled the catch with his unreal reflexes which left everyone awestruck. The catch was so amazing that his teammates came to congratulate him and the batsman was left wondering what happened in the middle.

Coulter-Nile to be picked for Ashes?

Nathan Coulter-Nile was the leader of the bowling attack in the recently ODI series and impressed everyone on the tour. He was also the highest wicket-taker in the series and to achieve the feat on spin-friendly wickets in no less than remarkable. Coulter-Nile has impressed everyone in the ongoing Sheffield Shield season. He scalped four wickets as Western Australia trounced Tasmania by a whopping 301 runs. Moreover, all his wickets of the top order batsman which highlights his wicket-taking ability.

The selectors have already cleared that there are a few places up for grabs in the squad to be named for Ashes. The 30-year-old bowler should be definitely under their radar and is most likely to receive the national call-up. Even though he is picked, it remains to be seen if he plays a game as the three pacers in Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins are certain to play. But surely there are exciting times ahead for Nathan Coulter-Nile and he would love to make it count when he is in the middle of a purple patch.
