Adam Voges, the 37-year old who had been axed from the side following a few horrendous performances with the bat is expected to make his much-awaited comeback into the grand scheme of things as the Sri Lankan tour looms over the horizon. This would perhaps be one final throw of the dice as far as he is concerned.

Speaking following his selection, Voges went on to state that this was indeed a tremendous honor given the fact that others such as Brett Lee, Mike Hussey, and even Ricky Ponting have had this role in the past. He also would go on to add that this was a fixture of epic proportions given the fact that this was an important fixture on the Australian cricketing calendar.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be selected to captain the Prime Minister’s XI and captain alongside the likes of past greats including Brett Lee, Mike Hussey, Ricky Ponting and Chris Rogers,” Voges said.

“Having played last year, I know how important this fixture is on the Australian cricketing calendar, and it is a great tradition.”

The Hon. Malcolm Turnbull, a Member of Parliament went on to state his delight over the appointment of Adam Voges to this position. “I’m delighted that Adam Voges will be available to Captain the PM’s XI,” said the Prime Minister, The Hon. Malcolm Turnbull MP.

Voges himself was pleased with the fact that this was indeed his second outing for the PM’s XI. “This is my second PM’s XI and I’m looking forward to a fierce contest against Sri Lanka.”
