Barmy Army gutted with Ben Stokes on-field brawl with Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is undoubtedly one of the greatest batsmen of the modern generation and has been scoring heaps of runs all over the world irrespective of the format of the game. That Indian fans love him and adore him is beyond doubt. But it would be interesting to figure out how the opposition prepares to counter him. Captains spend a majority of the time plotting his dismissal whereas bowlers consider his wicket as one of the most prized scalps of international cricket at the moment. Kohli just at the age of 28 is a feared prospect for each and every opposition around the world. Now how do the English fans feel about a man who has been a tormentor for them in the series so far? After a disappointing outing in 2014, Kohli has managed to amass over 400 runs at an average of over 100. Besides being a brilliant batsman, he leads his team with authority and ensures the opposition players get back as good as they get. Stokes who has a history of on-field banters was recently involved in an altercation with Indian captain Virat Kohli after his dismissal in the 2nd innings. After Stokes was reprimanded by the ICC for using foul language, he celebrated Kohli’s wicket with a “silent treatment”. Unsurprisingly Kohli celebrated Stokes’ in a similar manner when the southpaw fell cheaply in the 2nd innings. The Indian skipper has calmed down a lot in the last year or so and his nice gesture to Haseeb Hameed after the youngster played a gutsy knock on Monday won him a few more fans from the English dressing room. A member of the touring Barmy Army team summed it by saying, “Before coming to India we knew Kohli was in dangerous form. He has been scoring runs everywhere and against everyone and we also knew he was the last player our boys should sledge. “Stokes did just that. The lad’s a terrific player but he does ##@# things in the middle. You can’t get away by riling Virat up in these parts now, can you?” Inspiring generation next.
