Pakistan team kit to have Shahid Afridi foundation logo for England tour

International cricket has already resumed after the massive COVID-19 pandemic with the three-match Test series between England and the West Indies. But there’s more cricket to be played as the Pakistan team is scheduled to tour England in between August and September. The Pakistan team has already landed on English soil after reaching there in a chartered flight.

The series gets underway on August 5 with the opening Test at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester. The Rose Bowl in Southampton will play hosts to the remaining two Tests. The very venue is currently hosting the opening Test between the Three Lions and the Caribbean unit. For Pakistan, they will also play three T20Is in Manchester from August 28 to September 1.

Pakistan take a heartfelt step

In the meantime, it has been learned that the Shahid Afridi foundation logo will appear on the Pakistan kit for the tour as per reports in Pak Passion. Apart from that, there will also be a couple of sponsor logos. The organisation has been helping out the needy with ration in the coronavirus outbreak. Even Afridi has given his heart and soul to lend his helping hand for the underprivileged.

Back in June 13, Afridi, while helping out people, was himself diagnosed with COVID-19 and the cricketing fraternity wished for his speedy recovery. Thereafter, the veteran went on self-isolation. Around a week ago, the former Pakistan all-rounder recovered from the ungodly virus and he confirmed it through posts on social media platforms, Twitter and Instagram.

The Pakistan team is currently in Worcester where they are serving the isolation period before action begins in around a month. Prior to the tour, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was in a bit of a fix after 10 of their players were tested positive for coronavirus. There was also a controversy surrounding Mohammad Hafeez, whose results came positive initially.

But later, he conducted tests by himself and it came negative, agitating the PCB to some extent. But PCB’s second Test revealed that Hafeez didn’t possess the virus. To the relief of the board, a few of the 10 players have recovered and have joined the national squad for the England tour.
