'Practicing or Sightseeing?' - Twitter lashes out at Indian players over Mayank Agarwal's tweet

Mayank Agarwal, the right-handed India opener, was lambasted by Twitter users after he posted a photo with teammates on the social media platform. The reaction of Indian fans came after the humiliating ten wickets loss India suffered in the first Test match. The Indian fans made their dejection visible on the picture posted by the Karnataka batsman. The image featured him along with the Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Ishant Sharma, and Rishabh Pant.

The Indian team lost the 1st Test match on the 4th day after a disappointing performance from the batsmen. The much-acclaimed Indian batting line up could not cross the score of 200 even once in both the innings. However, Mayank Agarwal was one of the shining lights for the team in the first game. Agarwal was the only Indian batsman to score a half-century in the match. The loss was India’s first in ICC World Test Championship, and the decimation of Indian batting was not well received by either experts or the fans.

Various experts of the game, including the World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev also raised questions over the performance from Indian batsmen. Kapil Dev even raised questions over the selection of the Indian team slammed the batsmen for their failure in the Test. Mayank Agarwal and Ishant Sharma were the only players who displayed any fight with their performances.

Twitter Blasts Mayank Agarwal over his Picture

Mayank Agarwal posted a picture of his along with three players with the caption “Straight outta Wellington.” Though, the image did not go down well with the fans.

 

The fans soon started displaying their anger over the picture and condemned his image. A fan soon questioned his intent and tweeted “Practise or Sightseeing.”

The war of words did not stop here, and many fans even suggested the Indian players practice instead of roaming and sightseeing. A dejected Twitter user commented, “Stop Posing and Start Playing.”

The second Test is going to be a do and die game for the Indian side. The game is scheduled to be played from 29th February, and 60 points of ICC World Test Championship are at stake in the second match.
