With the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) all set to commence this month, the preparations are already underway. As a matter of fact, the PCB chairman Ramiz Raja went on to recently hold a meeting, in order to finalize the preparations for the same.

According to a report by Samaa TV, the former Pakistan cricketer met Sindh Syed Murad Ali, who happens to be the chief minister of the state of Sindh, at the CM house. He later met with several individuals from the government of Sindh, which include the district administration officials, and police officials at the National Stadium Karachi, and discussed about the necessary preparations to be done for PSL 7. The security plans were one of the major points of discussion as the safety of the players and officials were the top priority.

Besides, owing to the sudden rise in COVID-19 cases in the country, the PCB has agreed to lend the services of a foreign company for the bio-bubble as well. Moreover, it was earlier announced that a complete hotel will be booked for the teams. It is to be noted that the previous two seasons of the PSL had to be abruptly postponed due to the pandemic.

PSL 7 anthem faces delay

However, this report further states that the 59-year-old has denied bearing the expenses of the anthem for the new season. There is apparently not enough time to find a sponsor for and make an anthem. Thus, Raja has asked the marketing officials to find a sponsor as soon as possible.

“Find the sponsor as soon as possible, so we can make anthem in time to make it public ahead of the PSL,” responded Ramiz Raja when told about the lack of time to find a sponsor. Besides, the board had initially contacted the popular singer Atif Aslam for the anthem.

The seventh edition of Pakistan’s edition is all set to start from January 27, where the Karachi Kings take on the defending champions Multan Sultans. While the tournament will take place in Karachi and Lahore, the final is will take place on February 27 in Lahore.
