Aakash Chopra, after hanging up his boots from all forms of the game, has turned commentator much to the delight of the Indian fans. The fans have taken a special liking to his Hindi commentary and the man has been doing an exceptional job in terms of analysing the game on his Youtube channel as well.

He has continued doing it even in the ongoing lockdown keeping the fans hooked. However, during a recent interaction, Aakash Chopra was asked an interesting question. He was told to pick the current Indian cricketers who have the ability to become a very good commentator. And the former India cricketer picked the off-spinner Ravi Ashwin for the job without much hesitation.

He lauded Ashwin for his smartness and the knowledge and felt that he can analyse the game sitting in the dugout. Dugout commentary was introduced by Star Sports where three commentators give their detailed insights about the ongoing game live. “Ravi Ashwin should make a great English commentator, he will be good in dug out, he’s very bright, intelligent and smart,” Chopra said while speaking at the RK Show.

Aakash Chopra picks Chahal and Kuldeep for Hindi commentary

Aakash Chopra himself has been doing commentary in Hindi over the years now and reckons the Indian wrist spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav can do the job perfectly. Interestingly, he termed the chinaman spinner as the dark horse and stated that he is often under-rated and is rather a funny guy.

“In Hindi, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav can be fun. Kuldeep is actually under-rated, he can be funny. So, Kuldeep Yadav will be my dark horse,” the 42-year-old added. However, being the commentator and the analyst of the game, he has also faced the heat from the fans a lot of times. Recently, Aakash Chopra and his kids were abused a lot by the fans for not picking MS Dhoni in his probable Indian squad for the T20 World Cup.
