The vice-captain of the Team India Rohit Sharma became the first Indian cricketer on Sunday to deliver the ‘first pitch’ in Major League Baseball. He was invited to do the honours by the Seattle Mariners in their home game against Tampa Bay Rays at Safeco Field Baseball Park. However, his throw didn’t go as he would’ve liked but had a gala time with his wife Ritika Sajdeh when he was at the park.

Rohit is currently enjoying some free time away from cricket and is on a three-city US tour in which he is set to visit San Francisco and Los Angeles after Seattle. Recently, he was part of the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) but didn’t have a great season with the bat this time around. He will soon be travelling to the United Kingdom as the Men in Blue are scheduled to face Ireland and England in as many as 5 T20 Internationals which will be followed by ODIs.

Rohit enjoyed his throw down

Rohit Sharma was excited after visiting Seattle as he and his wife both were posting the pictures constantly on social media. It was a great honour that he was invited as a guest to mark a start of the game which is a ritual followed in baseball in the USA. The video of his throwdown is going viral now on Twitter as his fans are enjoying it. Though he missed it by a long way, his presence in the middle must have left his fans gushing.

Here’s the video:

Meanwhile, Rohit has not been included in the Test squad which will face Afghanistan in few days. His record in whites is not so encouraging and it seems that the selectors are looking for an able replacement for him ahead of the England tour. Karun Nair, for now, has taken his place whose last Test inning was a triple-century against England at home.
