S.Sreesanth survived murder attempt in jail,relative reveals a shocking fact: Former Indian pacer S.Sreesanth’s relative Madhu Balakrishnan today revealed that Sreesanth was attacked in the Tihar jail by an inmate while he was incarcerated in the jail on match fixing charges in 2013.

Balakrishnan who is Sreesanth’s brother-in-law further said that,”He told us that while he was walking inside the jail compound, a known history sheeter suddenly jumped before him, brandishing a very sharp knife. He (Sreesanth) reacted and in the melee, the attacker injured his hand and was taken away by the jail staff.”

Balakrishnan who is also a known playback singer also said that, “The family does not intend to turn this into any controversy nor are they planning to take this forward.”  The temperamental fast bowler was jailed on charges of spot fixing while playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals along with Ankit Chavan and Ajit Chandila.

He is currently out of jail on bail and recently got married to Bhuvaneshwari Kumari. The Delhi Police had invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against Sreesanth for the match fixing charges and the trial has been completed in a court in Delhi. The verdict is expected to be pronounced early this March.

Sreesanth has showed confidence that the charges against him will be quashed and the court will pronounce him non guilty.
