The ongoing Test series between Australia and Pakistan has been quite intriguing. While the stands have suggested otherwise, a victory here means a lot to both the teams. The Baggy Greens have been set a target of 462 after the Men in Green decided to declare at 181/6. As Australia came out to bat, the fielding placements by Pakistan came into question.

Sarfraz Ahmed, the Pakistani skipper hasn’t been going through the best of times. He also missed a stumping chance yesterday. Today after setting Australia a mammoth total of 462, he had a spread field for openers Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja. Both looked quite comfortable at the crease scoring runs. This surely didn’t entertain some fans and even Dean Jones.

Sarfraz Ahmed too defensive, needs to learn from his poor demeanor in Asia Cup

The Australian commentator wasn’t pleased with the captaincy tactics of Sarfraz Ahmed. The former cricketer felt that he was being too defensive as a skipper. He went on to say that Sarfraz hadn’t learnt his lessons from the poor performances in the Asia Cup.

Dean Jones put out a tweet lashing at the Pakistani skipper. “Is there a tone of panic in Sarfraz voice when he is speaking to his players? #fieldplacements? #toodefensive Sarfraz needs to calm down and learn from his poor demeanor in Asia Cup!”

Australia clung upon hope as they chase a mammoth 462

Before tea break, the Australian batsmen were cruising at 72/0 in 23 overs. With 390 runs more required and four more sessions to go, you just never know where the game might drift. However, with the pitch offering turn to spinners, it will be interesting to see how the Australian batsmen battle the trio of Mohammed Hafeez, Yasir Shah and Bilal Asif.

The first innings saw a surprising collapse as the visitors went from 142/0 to 202 all out. Thus, the Aussies will be wary this time around though the target is big. On the other hand, Pakistan would be looking to pay some heed to Dean Jones concern and try to exert pressure.
