Shah Rukh Khan reveals which sport he wants AbRam to pursue in future

Shah Rukh Khan co-owned IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders got off to a breezing start after defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore in the season opener last night. Shah Rukh himself was also present in the city to witness his team’s impeccable outing at home. The 52-year-old Bollywood icon could be seen in the stands along with his youngest son AbRam and daughter Suhana as they cheered for his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders.

Shah Rukh along with his daughter Suhana and his entourage cheered for KKR as they got off to a winning start under new skipper Dinesh Karthik. They also took part in the victory lap of the stadium after their four-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore.

However, speaking to reporters after the match, the Bollywood superstar revealed a secret insight regarding AbRam. Shah Rukh said he wants his youngest son, the five-year-old AbRam, to grow up to be a hockey player and represent the country on the international stage. Shah Rukh’s portrayal of Kabir Khan, who coached the Indian women’s team to lift the World Cup, is one of the top inspirational sports movies of Bollywood as well.

According to news18, Shah Rukh said, “He’s not yet started playing cricket. Right now, he’s playing a little bit of football. I would like him to play field hockey for India.”

Match Details

Chasing a stiff total of 177, KKR rode on a blistering half-century from opener Sunil Narine to prevail over the star-studded RCB. The West Indian slammed a quick-fire fifty to guide the hosts to a comfortable by four wickets in their opening match of Indian Premier League season 11 at the Edens Gardens on Sunday. KKR chased down the target in 18.5 overs.

Skipper Dinesh Karthik, 35 not out off 29 balls, took the team home with seven balls to spare. Chris Woakes (3/36) and Umesh Yadav (2/27) were the notables in the bowling department, sharing five wickets between them.
