Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has been making a lot of news these days, for some or the other reason. Earlier today, he resigned from the post of adviser to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman. Akhtar was appointed as the adviser to former PCB chairman Najam Sethi in February this year.

The Rawalpindi Express is now, however, making news for unnecessary reasons. He has visited Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK) and is there for the player’s development program for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars. Blown away by the beauty of the Kashmir valley, he wrote on his Twitter handle, “My 1st ever visit to beautiful Kashmir valley & i am stunned to see the beauty of this valley am speechless. Come visit your self & see your self to experience it GOD bless Jammu & all Kashmir..”

He also posted a stunning video of POK along with his written tweet. Later, he also posted a video of the players training. “Paragliding in Muzaffarabad ,the beautiful valley of Kashmir and Promoting Pakistan tourism in kashmir through Lahore Qalanders,” Shoaib wrote posting the video.

The fight between fans

The video was pleasing to the eye but the fans from both sides of the Wagah border, India and Pakistan, engaged in an argument on Twitter.

“Remember This is not your pakistan’s kashmir . Pakistan has illegally occupied so called Azaad kashmir like Indian’s occupied Jammu kashmir. Khudara humein Azaad kashmir aur maqboza kashmir ko Baraai mehrabni Chod dou,” wrote a user.

Another reply from an Indian said, “@PMOIndia, Next time before you decide giving him Indian Visa, see this video of him and use brains. Thanks”

There were also heated arguments on how Indian Kashmir doesn’t belong to India, or POK doesn’t belong to Pakistan.

“For all those indians claiming AJK as their territory , can you please for a moment logically think ,why is it that any IPL team administration or indian player never dares to visit IOK and shoaib is enjoying his time in Ajk ?? asked a Pakistani.

Here are some of the replies:
