With ten runs required in the last two deliveries, Chennai Super Kings were clearly on the back foot as pacer Mohit Sharma was nailing his yorkers in the final over. However, Ravindra Jadeja backed himself to get the job done as the Southpaw hit a six on the penultimate delivery and a four on the final delivery in order to pull off a heist at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Notably, Jadeja’s innings sealed Chennai Super Kings’ fate as the MS Dhoni-led side won their fifth title in the history of the competition. Meanwhile, after the completion of the match, the all-rounder was seen hugging his wife, Rivaba Jadeja and the picture went viral on various social media platforms.

Jadeja’s cameo sealed the deal for CSK

Chasing a massive target of 171 runs in 15 overs, CSK started well as openers Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad set the tone for the match. Their partnership of 74 runs helped CSK start well as, later on, Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu, and Shivam Dube played some brilliant cricket in order to keep the scoreboard ticking.

After Ruturaj was sent back to the pavilion by Noor Ahmad, Shivam Dube was interestingly promoted up in the order as the 29-year-old hit 32* runs off 21 deliveries. Despite his best attempts, CSK were struggling in the middle, and that’s when the southpaw Ravindra Jadeja rose to the occasion and changed the complexion of the game and eventually won it for his side. After hitting the winning boundary, the cricketer ran towards the CSK dugout as skipper MS Dhoni picked him up and hugged him; the picture instantly went viral on various social media platforms.

Meanwhile, next up, Jadeja will join his India teammates for the World Test Championship finale against Australia, which is slated to begin on June 7 at Oval, England. He is expected to fly soon and join the likes of Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur and others.
