Cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra responded to a fan’s query on former India pacer Irfan Pathan on social media. The Women’s Premier League (WPL) has taken the nation by storm with scintillating matches on offer and from fans to cricketers and even the commentators seem to be relishing the season.

It is worth mentioning that former keeper-batter Parthiv Patel graced the commentary box during a clash in the WPL. Aakash Chopra, who has been one of major faces in the commentary panel, expressed his delight on social media on having Parthiv alongside him during the match.

In the same post, one of the fans questioned the cricketer turned broadcaster if he ‘misses’ having Irfan Pathan in the panel. Aakash was swift in his response and stated that he misses his 'man' and looks forward to sharing the commentary box with Pathan.

“Ohhhh yes. Love sharing the comm-box with my man. Hopefully we will have that opportunity again,” he shared on his Twitter handle.

Notably, Aakash and Irfan have previously worked together in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Hindi commentary panel. With the 16th edition scheduled to begin on March 31, the duo will be seen donning the commentator’s hat once again for the mega cricket carnival.

Delhi-Mumbai eye direct path to WPL final

Mumbai Indians were humbled in their previous outing against a dominant Delhi Capitals to keep the latter’s hopes alive for a place in the summit clash. In addition to this, Delhi Capitals were also handed a significantly decent net run rate (NRR) to further strengthen their case for the finals.

However, with two matches to go in the league phase, it remains to be seen what transpires. Mumbai play a resurgent Royal Challengers Bangalore whereas Delhi square off against UP Warriorz in the exciting double header on Tuesday, March 21.

Both Delhi and Mumbai are tied on points in the standings, therefore wins in both their respective fixtures would essentially mean that the NRR will come into picture. Meg Lanning and Co. have the momentum on their side and will look to capitalize on it whereas Mumbai will need to bounce back from their recent failures to compete for the title.
