MS Dhoni's new funky avatar in Chennai Super Kings' video takes internet by storm

Ahead of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni was spotted playing guitar with some of his teammates in a probable ad shoot. In the video, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Deepak Chahar, and Shivam Dube were spotted enjoying their time with the captain cool as four of them were trying to jam in the middle.

Meanwhile, as soon as the four-time champions shared the video on their Twitter profile, the fans went crazy seeing Dhoni in a new avatar. Courtesy of which, the 16 seconds video instantly went viral on the social media and attracted more than 5 lakh likes and over 3.3 million views.

Notably, the 2023 edition of the tournament will mark Dhoni’s return to MA Chidambaram Stadium in over three years. Due to COVID-19, the Men in Yellow couldn't play any of their home games in Chennai and thus, the fans are excited to welcome the team back. After their opening game on March 31 against Gujarat Giants at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Super Kings will play their first home game on April 3 against Lucknow Super Giants.

MS Dhoni’s retirement from the IPL has been one of the most talked about subjects in cricket in the last couple of years. However, the stumper-batter last year revealed that he wants to play in front of the Chennai supporters once again before calling his time from the game. Thus, with that, former Australia international Matthew Hayden believes that 2023 may very well be Dhoni’s last year in the cash-rich league as this year he will finally get the opportunity to entertain the CSK supporters once again.

“It will be an amazing moment. I think last year, we were all under the impression that will MSD come back again. At the close of the IPL season, he made that huge comment to say that he will be back. Now, what that means for all that Yellow Army is that Chennai suddenly galvanized a tad around the superior leader, who has done it for so long. This will, most certainly, I think, be the close of his IPL career. So, those few games at the start are not only going to be key for the fans, his performance is also going to be key for CSK this season," Hayden was quoted as saying by NDTV Sports.
