Rishabh Pant grateful to 'two heroes' who saved him during fatal car accident

The star India batter met with a disastrous car accident on 30th December 2022 while driving from Roorkee to New Delhi

India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has thanked the two youths who saved him, after he met with a horrific car accident on December 30, 2022, while on his way from New Delhi to Roorkee.

Calling them 'heroes,' Pant stated that he will be forever indebted to them for saving him and currently on the way to recovery after multiple surgeries.

Taking to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, Pant shared a photo of the two youths, Rajat Kumar and Nishu Kumar, thanking them and stating that he would forever remain grateful to them. 

“I may not have been able to thank everyone individually, but I must acknowledge these two heroes who helped me during my accident and ensured I got to the hospital safely. Rajat Kumar & Nishu Kumar, Thank you. I’ll be forever grateful and indebted,” the 25-year-old's post read.

The left-handed star batter also posted an update on his health, stating that his road to recovery has begun and he thanked all his fans, well-wishers, the BCCI and its secretary, Jay Shah, for all the support.

"I am humbled and grateful for all the support and good wishes. I am glad to let you know that my surgery was a success. The road to recovery has begun and I am ready for the challenges ahead. Thanks to the @BCCI, @JayShah & government authorities for their incredible support."

"From the bottom of my heart, I also would like to thank all my fans, teammates, doctors, and the physios for your kind words and encouragement. Looking forward to seeing you all on the field. #grateful #blessed," added Pant in another tweet.

Notably, Pant is expected to be out of action from the cricket field for the majority of 2023 and is anticipated to miss a number of major competitions, including the IPL. Pant, who leads Delhi Capitals, won't be available for the mega carnival, which is scheduled to commence in the month of April.
