'Sad we won’t get to see Virat one last time this summer' - Rishi Sunak on Kohli's retirement from Test cricket
Sunak is a keen follower of cricket.
The retirement of Virat Kohli from Test cricket has led to a whole spectrum of personalities and former cricketers celebrating the great career of the former India skipper and legendary batter. Kohli played some incredible knocks and achieved numerous historical feats in the 14 years he represented the Indian Test team.
Notably, a factor that would disappoint the fans is that the 36-year-old world-class cricketer won’t be seen in the upcoming Test series against England, an opponent he has played hard against. This disappointment was shown in a recent tweet by former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who had mentioned that it would be sad not to see Virat play one last time during the English summer.
“Sad we won’t get to see @imVkohli one last time this summer. He has been a legend of the game: a superb batsman, an astute captain, and a formidable competitor who always understood the true value of Test cricket," Sunak wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).
