Uttar Pradesh batter, Sameer Rizvi made Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans indulge in auction warfare during the IPL 2024 mini-auction. However, CSK secured his rights for 8.40 crore and since then the fans awaited the young talent to unleash his batting skills. Though he did not get to bat in the opening game, he made sure to leave an impact in the second as he took Rashid Khan to the cleaners.

Rizvi smashed Rashid for two sixes in an over which made even MS Dhoni smile from the dressing room. While he was slogging in the field at Chepauk, his family was enjoying the performance from their home. In the video surfacing on the internet, one of his family members could be heard saying that he had promised a first-ball six when he debuted for the CSK.

Here’s the video of Rizvi’s family celebrating:

Rizvi aims high with exceptional Domestic record

The 20-year-old had to depart after a brief innings against GT while trying to up the ante. He mistimed a shot off Mohit Sharma on the third delivery of the 20th over and David Miller caught him at long on. Notably, his onslaught did not go in vain as CSK breached the 200 mark against last season’s final opponents. The defending champions went to seal the victory by 63 runs in what was a one-sided affair at Chepauk on Tuesday.
