An important member of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), the Prince of Kolkata Sourav Ganguly is going through some tough times recently. He had to re-elect Ravi Shastri as the head coach of the Indian cricket team despite his reservations against the former team director. Twitter celebrity Kamaal R Khan has bashed Ganguly on social media and has accused him of bribery.

That event is past now and Dada is more concerned about unveiling his statue at Balurghat in West Bengal on Saturday. In order to do so, the former Indian skipper boarded the Padatik Express from Sealdah railway station along with Abhishek Dalmiya, the joint secretary of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). The duo was joined by some other CAB officials. Before the journey, Ganguly became very nostalgic as he was travelling by this form of transportation after 15 years.

This is my ‘berth’-right!

According to the reservation list, Ganguly was allocated a berth in an AC 1st class compartment. Accordingly, Dada went inside. But another person was sitting in his place. Dada tried to settle the dispute, but instead of making peace, the passenger began a brawl. He didn’t care enough about the stature of Dada. All he was interested was in his berth.

In despair, Ganguly got down from the compartment. Seeing the legendary player, that too at a railway station, all the cricket frenzy people of Bengal rushed towards him. The RPF rushed towards the spot and after a lot of hustle and bustle was able to clear the crowd. But the main problem wasn’t solved yet.

Passenger: 1, Dada: 0

Ganguly was yet to be allocated a seat as the passenger in the first class compartment was in no mood to vacate his berth. After some more chaos, Ganguly was offered a berth in AC 2-tier. Seeing no other options, the 45-year old had to agree to it. Hence the nostalgic journey was a bitter one for Sourav. The train ticket examiner must be in deep waters now.
