England ace pacer Stuart Broad said that they will be plotting Australia’s fall once they reach Brisbane, the venue for the 1st Ashes Test match. Interestingly, he had an answer to the million dollar question of how the Australian skipper can be dismissed. Smith has been in rich form in the longest format of the game. He has scored runs in India, Australia, Bangladesh and the visitors are aware of the threat.

Broad has said that the Three Lions will put their heads together and plan for Smith. He also said that many suggested him to bowl straight at Smith, from around the wicket. But the pacer has observed that Smith hardly gets out in that fashion unless there is an uneven bounce.

“Obviously we had plans for him in England (during the 2015 Ashes in the UK), but it was quite clear in England that if you don’t get him out early he seems to get big scores, and probably even more so in Australia because the pitches stay flat for a bit longer,” Broad told the reporters in Adelaide.

“He’s got huge scoring areas from straight, so I think we have to look for his outside edge up until about day three and then if the pitches start going slightly up and down or crack like the Gabba can do that can bring the lbw in. But if the bounce is true, I don’t think Smith is an lbw or bowled candidate, so we have to look for his outside edge,” Broad further added.

Broad also said that he has been watching a lot of videos of his childhood hero Glenn McGrath, as part of his preparations. The pacer had an impressive Ashes campaign in the year 2015 and he would hope to replicate similar action.
