Malinga is the first word that comes to mind when one hears the word yorker. And he was one of the finest limited-overs bowlers Sri Lanka has ever produced. Lasith Malinga was a part of the Sri Lankan team during the 2007 and 2011 World Cups. But, unfortunately, his team failed to win the trophy.

During the inaugural auction, Malinga was picked up by the MI management for 350,000 dollars. This started his journey with the Mumbai Indians and he won two champions leagues and four IPL trophies with them. In 2020, he opted out of the IPL, and in 2021, he retired from the format. But even today, he is the highest wicket-taker in the history of the tournament with 170 wickets.

Malinga had an impressive IPL economy rate of 7.14. Talking about his T20I records, he has picked 107 wickets in 83 matches. Adding on, he has a stellar best bowling figure of 5/6 in T20Is. It is no doubt that the Sri Lankan is one of the all-time greats in the sport.
