7. Sunil Gavaskar (Mumbai) 340 vs. Bengal 1981-82

The little master scored his only triple century in First Class cricket against Bengal in 1981-82. Gavaskar scored 340 runs with 48 fours and 2 sixes and shared an opening partnership- of 421 runs with Ghulam Parkar (156). Mumbai scored 652/6 dec, in response to Bengal’s 252 runs. Bombay won the match by an innings and 181 runs by dismissing Bengal for 219 in second innings.
