The Kings XI Punjab batsman has been a revelation in the last 2 to 3 years. He has come a long way since playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore as a middle-order batsman. KL Rahul is now one of the best T20 openers and is giving Shikhar Dhawan a tough time for his place in the Indian team. He was also appointed as the captain of his franchise for the 2020 season.

The Karnataka batsman has scored 1977 runs in 58 IPL innings at an average of 42.06. He has a strike rate of 138.15 which has been on the rise since he was promoted to open the innings. Rahul has also scored the fastest fifty in IPL history in just 14 balls. He achieved this feat in the 2018 season against the Delhi Capitals. The opening batsman has by far been the best player for the Punjab side, proving his worth time and again with some very crucial knocks.

The opener is currently ranked at number 2 in the T20I batsman ranking and is only behind the Pakistan captain, Babar Azam. He has overtaken the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to become the highest-ranked T20I player for India. He is only 28 years old and with age on his side, we can expect him to break many more records in the future.
