Luke Ronchi just did not break the record for the highest score at number 7, but he has smashed it with his 170* off just 99 balls. He smoked 9 sixes and 14 fours in his innings. Along with Grant Elliot (104), he scored 267 run partnerships, another record. New Zealand were 93-5, but then Ronchi and Elliot just kept on going and then scored 77 runs in the last 5 overs. New Zealand scored 360-5 at the end of 50 overs.

Sri Lanka tried their best to chase the total, but they ended up with 252 runs despite a brilliant 116 from Tillakaratne Dilshan.

New Zealand won by 108 runs. (Also read Top 5 Batsmen Fastest to reach 18 centuries (by innings) in ODI)
