Twitter Reactions: Sri Lanka turn the tables after a solid start from India

The third and final Test of the Test series between India and Sri Laked kicked off from today at Pallekele Skipper Virat Kohli and his men went into the match as the clear favourites winning both the two previous games. As the series has already been clinched by the visitors, Sri Lanka had planned to restore their pride in the match. The action: Batting first, India took off their usual dominant start as both the openers looked pretty comfortable on the pitch. The pitch was expected to be a much trickier one than the ones we saw on Galle and the SSC, due to the moisture on it. Shikhar Dhawan and Lokesh Rahul looked flawless with the bat as they mastered the Kandy wicket. The Sri Lankans bowler struggled to deal with the Indian openers once again and the team looked for a mammoth total once again. Dhawan brought up his second hundred of the series and celebrated it dramatically. However, it was yet another knock from the consistent KL Rahul which fell just short of a hundred as he was picked up by Malinda Pushpakumara at the score of 85. India lost Rahul with the scoreboard having fed with 188 runs. Cheteshwar Pujara fell cheaply in the match giving Sri Lanka a faint hope for revival. Spinner Malinda Pushpakumara and Lakshan Sandakan were terrific in the second half as they made full use of the pitch. The deliveries saw some decent amount of turn which got the better of the Indian batsmen. The day’s play ended with the Indians putting up 329 runs on the board at the loss of 6 wickets. The Sri Lankans have the momentum on their side going on to the next day and will look to bundle out the Indians within the 400 run mark.
