India resumed Day 3 from their overnight score of 183/5. In the morning session, Virat Kohli went on to register his 21st Test century. This was his second hundred in South Africa. The Indian skipper was pumped up as he stood tall while the rest of the batting line-up faltered.

However, soon after that, Hardik Pandya committed a brain fade. He failed to ground his bat while returning back to the crease and was run out in the process. Ravichandran Ashwin who followed batted significantly well for an hour. He alongside Kohli put up a magnificent 71-run partnership for the seventh wicket.

Just before lunch, Ashwin and Mohammed Shami were dismissed in quick succession. Kohli alongside Ishant Sharma ensured India reached the 300 mark. Morne Morkel managed to get their wickets as he ended up with a four-wicket haul. India were all out for 307 trailing by 28 runs.

South Africa were off to a horrible start. Jasprit Bumrah had Aiden Makram trapped lbw in his very first over. Three overs later, he sent back Hashim Amla to the pavilion as well. The Proteas were reduced to 3/2 as India managed to swing the momentum back to their side.

However, as has been the case throughout the tour, India let loose. AB de Villiers rescued the hosts in his usual counterattacking style. On the other hand, the Indian bowlers failed to apply any kind of pressure on the batsmen thereafter. Dean Elgar though popped a chance, but being let off managed to stay at the crease.

Both put up an unbeaten partnership of 87 runs for the third wicket before bad light played spoilsport. South Africa were 90/2 at stumps on Day 3. Bumrah got a couple of wickets as the rest of the bowlers failed to make much of a difference.

Twitter enjoyed their Monday more than any other one. It began with Kohli’s century and ended with AB de Villiers’ half century. Pandya was trolled for his brain fade run out. On the other hand, Parthiv Patel jokes were also in fashion following his missed chance.
