Ravi Shastri is currently the head coach of the Indian cricket team. He managed to retain his position back in August, as he pipped out the likes of Tom Moody and Mike Hesson for the role. Back in 2017 after India’s Champions Trophy exit, Shastri came into the fore. Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble were involved in a severe altercation following which the latter resigned from his position.

It was then that the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) appointed Shastri, also a member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team, and brought him to the fore. Under his tutelage, India has done exceptionally, going to the top of the rankings in Test cricket. He has often spoken highly of the current national side, terming it as one of the best. Even in ODIs and T20Is, the Men in Blue has flourished under him.

However, India are yet to win a tournament, organized by the ICC with Shastri at the helm. Back in July, Kohli and Co made an exit from the World Cup after their defeat at the hands of New Zealand. In the next two years, India are scheduled to play a couple of T20 World Cups in Australia and in India. The 2021 T20 World Cup will see the end of Shastri’s second tenure as the head coach.

Ravi Shastri trolled again

The veteran will be looking to remove the blob from his otherwise incredible stint as the coach of the national team. Amidst his decent run as the coach, Shastri has also been a recipient of some ridicules. He has the propensity of consuming alcohol and has even been seen coming out of the team bus with a beer bottle in hand. Hence, the netizens have trolled him to a large extent.

Recently, he became a meme material yet again in his career. The ICC posted a picture where Shastri was striking a pose with both his hands spread sideways. Twitterati took it as a chance to troll him. Even as some compared it to the famous Titanic pose, a few went on to call him Iron Man’s Tony Stark. His comparison was also drawn with the Christ the Redeemer Statue.

Here is how Twitter drew Shastri’s comparison with many personalities
