Team India was very clinical with their performances in the ODI series against South Africa. This is the first time ever that India won a bilateral series across formats on the Proteas soil and skipper Virat Kohli will definitely be a proud man. They comfortably beat the South African team by a 73-run margin taking the lead up to 4-1 and yet again, the Proteas batsmen succumbed to the wrist spin duo from India. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav managed to pick six wickets in the game hindering South Africa’s chances.

Although the Proteas bowlers performed exceptionally well with the ball, their batsmen let them down and their vulnerability in picking the variations of the wrist spinners was on display. Indian opener, Rohit Sharma who struggled for a majority of this tour was the top performer in this game and put India in a commanding position with a blistering century.

Virat Kohli pays back Tabraiz Shamsi for his antics

Indian skipper Virat Kohli yet again got off a great start in this game before he was run out. Moreover, this is the seventh time he was involved in a run out when batting with Rohit Sharma, with him being the victim five times. He was batting on 36 before there was a terrible mix up in the middle leading to a run-out. Virat was involved in a fun banter with his former RCB teammate Tabraiz Shamsi while he was batting.

Shamsi had a go at the Indian skipper while he was batting. These two exchanged a word or two and Shamsi almost got Virat stumped out too. But Virat was given the benefit of the doubt by the third umpire, Aleem Dar. Kohli, being aggressive as he is, gave it back to Shamsi right there and didn’t look pleased with the latter’s antics.

Also, not one to forget things quickly, Kohli indulged in some banter when Shamsi was at the crease.”Chest pad? Shammo (Shamsi), you have a chest pad on?,” the stump mic picked up Kohli as saying when Shamsi was facing Kuldeep Yadav. Kohli’s tactics worked, as Shamsi, attempting a big hit, was dismissed on the very next ball.
