Watch: Jake Reed’s funny delivery stride on BBL debut: Today’s Big Bash clash between the Brisbane Heat and the Hobart Hurricanes was really a close encounter between these two strong sides. Everyone got to experience three hours of competitive cricket along with some extra-ordinary individual batting performances. But meanwhile, one funny incident caught everyone’s eye. Jake Reed, the Australian pacer fell down on the bowling crease without even releasing the ball from his hand. This incident was very much similar to how Virat Kohli fell down while bowling against Pakistan in Chennai in the year 2012.

The tale had begun with the captain of the Hurricanes, Tim Paine giving the responsibility of bowling the 5th over to the debutant right arm pacer, Jake Reed. Earlier, Reed had made an impression of generating some outstanding amount of pace in his deliveries, while playing in the Australian county leagues. Moreover, the skipper, Paine also seems to be a fan of Reed’s bowling.

So, the two batsmen out there were Forrest and Pearson representing the Heats. The score board moved up to 33 runs for no loss. Starting the first delivery of Reed’s Big Bash career, with all eyes on him for his debut performance it was all good for the 24 year old lad, until he reached the bowling crease. He took his stance and was about to jump and deliver the ball. But the jump didn’t go as it regularly does, and he might have well missed the run-up beat as his right foot landed awkwardly.

His right leg lost balance and started sliding over the pitch. It made him fall down on all fours for a moment. But he was quick to get himself back on feet with a big smile on his face. The umpire declared it as a wide. But it was such a delivery which no bowler would want to be the first one of his career. Later, the Brisbane Heat went on scoring a close to record total of 208/6. But Hurricanes, with their strong batting squad chased down the target with Ben Dunk’s blistering 67 and Tim Paine’s quick-fire 55 of just 25 balls.
