Team India skipper Virat Kohli is in a very happy place at the moment. His team recently beat South Africa in the virtual quarter final of the ICC Champions Trophy. With the win, India are only a couple of steps away from successfully defending their title in the mega event. While the heroics of Kohli are bound to be in the news, the recent times have seen his love life in the headlines too.

Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma have been dating each other for quite some time now. Last year, there were news about their split and many had mocked Anushka as the bad luck for Kohli. The Indian skipper had then slammed them with a post on the social media for doing so. Later, the couple were seen together at the wedding of Yuvraj Singh which confirmed that all is well between the lovebirds.

Kohli also posted updates on the Women’s day and on the Valentine’s day for Anushka. Needless to say, the Indian skipper is totally lovestruck and believes the lady luck is shining bright on him. Now, in a recent conversation with ICC Champions Trophy broadcaster, Star Sports, Virat Kohli opened up about the lucky presence that Anushka Sharma has in his life.

Anushka’s lucky presence

Kohli spoke about the two occasions when he was named the captain of the Indian team in the Tests and in the limited overs. On both occasions, he had the presence of Anushka by his side. No wonder why the Indian captain reckons the lady luck is with him. He cited that the moment was special and it became even better since he shared it with Anushka Sharma.

“I was Mohali and there was a Test series going on. I was with Anushka then, she had come to visit me. Surprisingly, when I became the Test captain then also she was in Melbourne with me. That was a very special moment we shared together. During the Mohali incident, they (BCCI) had spoken to me already. When I hung up the phone and told her, for me it was like a flashback. From the moment I started playing in my academy till the Mohali game. I was emotional. I was in tears because I had never thought that I will see this day,” quoted Virat Kohli.

“What was more beautiful was that, I was able to share it with Anushka. It was something that I will always remember,” he added further.
